Featuring: Byzanca a stunning mid-century modern fabric from the 1960s by S. M. Hexter Company, featuring rich earth tones with blue, yellow, and purple details throughout. On the reverse a 1980’s cyan and pink leopard print on a white background with black border on either side to create a leopard print band that continues on both sides of this amazing BAG BAG with black woven straps.
BYZANCE - textile maker: "S. M. Hexter Company was founded in Columbus, Ohio, likely in the early 20th century. Although limited information exists about the textile company, they clearly influenced the high-end American upholstery textiles market in the 20th century. Several S. M. Hexter Company pieces were in former exhibits/permanent collections at MoMa and the Cooper Hewitt Museum."
